Exciting New Developments

There’s a lot in the pipeline here at Frank Morgan Music and Publishing.

James has sent a version of his Ave Verum, arranged for 4 celli, to an old friend in Seattle, and the first look seems to have gone down well – they may even look to record it over the summer!

We are also looking to publish a booklet of Common Psalms, written for guitar accompaniment, which will give music groups who might struggle to find an easy version of a psalm to sing at Mass access to a version of a range of psalms that can be used in place of the psalm of the day. More details to follow…

and finally, there is the possibility of another Mass setting – written by more members of the music group at Our Lady’s in Stockport – negotiations are ongoing, and permission to publish will be sought as soon as possible…

So, keep your eyes open for news of more music becoming available soon!

Ave Verum – first performance

Yesterday afternoon saw the first performance of the Ave Verum that I wrote at the end of last year. At least, I think it was the first performance – there’s a chance that my father-in-laws choir might have sung it the night before. I think it went well and seemed to be well received, and it was nice to hear it out loud rather than in my head! It is a little difficult to tell how it went, as I was not only singing but conducting…!

Anyway – it feels like it has been properly launched now. And the mistake in the choral parts has been amended…!

New website

Frank Morgan Music and Publishing has a new website – http://www.frankmorganmusicandpublishing.co.uk

and also has a new email (admin@frankmorganmusicandpublishing.co.uk)

So, this website will now be more of a blog than a business website – please feel free to visit the new website! And, when there is a chance to write some new music, there will be posts on this website. In the meantime, the list of projects include a song commissioned as part of a winning raffle prize; a song with words written by my mother; an instrumental piece of music for my eldest, violin playing, God-daughter; and keyboard settings for a bunch of psalms that have already been written for guitars. Just for completeness…

New Music

Frank Morgan Music and Publishing is proud to confirm the publication of a 4 part motet, Ave Verum Corpus. The whole piece lasts for about 4 1/2 minutes, and is available for unaccompanied SATB choir, with optional piano reduction for rehearsal (and performance if desired).

Please see the Ave Verum Corpus page on this website for further details, including cost and how to order.

In addition, there is an alternative Penitential Act, a Gospel Acclamation for use during Lent, an alternative Alleluia with a sung verse tone and an alternative setting of the Sanctus. Indications are given for the priest to intone the invitation to the Memorial Acclamations and the Doxology at the end of the Eucharistic Prayer.
